Official Rules
1. Overview
The Be The King Progressive Electronic Raffle is a charitable fundraising event operated by Kids Deserve Dads. Participants purchase tickets for a chance to win a weekly prize and, if they uncover the King of Hearts, they also win the progressive jackpot. Proceeds from this raffle benefit fatherhood education programs and the construction of the Kids Deserve Dads Center – A House of Hope.
2. Eligibility
- Anyone may purchase tickets, regardless of location.
- Only legal residents of South Dakota and Wyoming are eligible to win prizes.
- Participants must be 18 years of age or older.
- Non-residents purchasing tickets acknowledge that they are making a donation to Kids Deserve Dads. If their ticket is drawn, the prize is forfeited (see Section 9 for forfeiture details).
3. Raffle Duration
- The raffle will run for a maximum of 52 weeks or until the King of Hearts is revealed.
- If the King of Hearts is the last remaining card in week 52, that week’s winner automatically wins the progressive jackpot.
- If the jackpot is won before week 52, the raffle ends immediately, and a new game starts the following week.
4. How to Enter
To participate in the Be The King Progressive Raffle, players must:
- Select a card: Choose a card from the virtual deck of 52 cards. If drawn, this card will be revealed.
- Purchase tickets: Ticket pricing is as follows:
- 1 ticket – $5
- 12 tickets – $50
- 30 tickets – $100
- 70 tickets – $200
- Submit payment: Payments are accepted via Credit Cards, PayPal, Venmo, Facebook Pay, and Cash App. No refunds are available once a purchase is made.
- Receive ticket confirmation: Ticket numbers are automatically generated through Givebutter.com and sent via email. If confirmation is not received, check your spam/junk folder or contact [email protected].
5. Drawings and Selection of Winners
- Weekly drawings take place every Thursday at 7:00 PM (Mountain Time) and are broadcast live on all Kids Deserve Dads social media pages.
- The winning ticket is drawn through a randomized, automated process.
- The person holding the winning ticket for that week will have their chosen card revealed.
Winning conditions:
- If the revealed card is the King of Hearts, the winner receives both the weekly prize and the progressive jackpot.
- If the revealed card is not the King of Hearts, the weekly prize is awarded, and the progressive jackpot continues to grow for future drawings.
- Each State has its own laws around raffles. Currently we are only licensed for South Dakota and Wyoming residents to WIN. This is a game for entertainment purposes and only residents of approved states can win. All others will forfeit as outlined in the FAQ and Rules. All winners will be required to provide valid state ID.
6. Ticket Purchase Deadlines
- All ticket purchases for a given week’s drawing must be completed before the announced deadline.
- Any tickets purchased after the deadline will be entered into the next week’s drawing.
7. Overturned Cards
- Once a card is revealed, it remains overturned for the duration of the game.
- Overturned cards cannot be selected in future weeks.
8. Prize Distribution
Each week’s ticket sales are distributed as follows:
- 50% – Donated to Kids Deserve Dads.
- 30% – Added to the progressive jackpot.
- 20% – Awarded to the weekly winner.
9. Non-Resident Forfeitures
- If a non-resident (outside of South Dakota or Wyoming) is drawn as the winner, they are not eligible to receive the prize.
- In the event of a forfeited prize, the funds are reallocated as follows:
- 50% of the forfeited prize amount will go to Kids Deserve Dads.
- 50% of the forfeited prize amount will be added back into the progressive jackpot.
10. Winner Notification & Claiming Prizes
- Winners must claim their prize within 30 days.
- If a winner cannot be contacted within 30 days, the prize is forfeited and redistributed per Section 9.
- Winners’ first names and last initials may be publicly announced. If a winner wishes to remain anonymous, they must submit a written request.
11. Technical Issues & Backup Drawings
- If a technical failure prevents the drawing from being conducted live, a backup drawing will be held as soon as possible.
- Kids Deserve Dads will notify participants of any delays via email and social media.

- If you purchase a ticket from outside South Dakota or Wyoming, you are entering for entertainment purposes only.
- If a non-resident wins, 50% of the forfeited winnings go to Kids Deserve Dads, and 50% is added back into the jackpot.
- All winners will be required to show current ID from their state.
