How we fund the work.

Where money comes from

• Donations. Tax-deductible gifts through Givebutter, one-time and monthly, plus honor/memorial and stock or donor-advised-fund gifts.
• Program service revenue. The FORGE intensive and Direct Coaching charge fees. That revenue is mission revenue: it funds the free tiers (the daily text, the Morning Coffee Hour, the Proving Ground community) and the scholarship seat in every full FORGE cohort. The teaching is the same at every tier; the fee buys structure and personal attention, never access to the mission.
• Charitable gaming. The Be The King progressive raffle operates under charitable gaming licenses in South Dakota and Wyoming. Proceeds support programs.
• Sponsorships. Businesses and communities underwriting programs and events at published tiers.

Our fee-waiver policy

Money is never the reason a dad stays alone. Every core support (daily text, Morning Coffee Hour, Proving Ground) is free, permanently. For paid programs, the Scholarship Promise applies: every full FORGE cohort includes a funded scholarship seat, filled by a father who could not pay his own way. A dad who cannot afford coaching is told so plainly and pointed to the free tiers, which carry the same curriculum.

Why we file the 990-N

Kids Deserve Dads is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) public charity, EIN 82-3510748, incorporated in Wyoming and South Dakota. Organizations with gross receipts under the IRS threshold file the Form 990-N electronic notice rather than the long-form 990, and that is what we file. The honest consequence: there is no public long-form financial record yet, so this page is where our financial picture lives.

As the organization grows past the threshold, we will file the full Form 990 and publish it here.

Gift acceptance and policies

Cash, card, stock, and donor-advised-fund gifts are accepted; gifts of other property are reviewed before acceptance. Donations are used where the need is greatest unless you designate them (for example, to Houses of Hope or a scholarship seat), and designated gifts are tracked to their purpose. Written conflict-of-interest, whistleblower, and gift-acceptance policies are being adopted as the board is seated, and each will be published on this page when board-approved. Donor data handling is covered in our privacy policy: we never sell or rent our list.
